IBM intends to pay between $9 and $10 a share for Santa Clara, Calif.-based Sun, said the person, who declined to be named late Thursday as the talks are still underway. At those prices, it would be the largest acquisition in IBM’s history.

IBM in talks to buy Sun for $6.5Bn

Well Cisco’s announcement will lead to much bigger and mega M&A. More market consolidation will happen as we move towards the Cloud Computing.
Any deal would likely bring very close scrutiny from regulatory authorities, given both firm’s roles in the server, storage and systems software markets.
