Data Center Build Out is hot in Europe; Trend to stay hot until 2015!

Not surprisingly though, although that research firm is missing out on some really big sector, especially emerging markets where both U.S and Europe based companies are investing heavily in Data Center Build Out. Not only that many local operators and especially Telco’s are ramping up capacity like never before in these markets.

Firstly, the amount of raised-floor data centre capacity is set to increase by an average of 14 per cent a year in the 2010 – 2015 period, a 92.5 per cent total increase. As if that was not good enough, the data centre equipment revenues are set to increase 25 per cent a year over that period, slightly more than tripling.

It looks as if server virtualisation and chiller-less data centres will have precious little effect on data centre equipment revenues going forward. Confirming this, the report suggests that revenue per square metre of raised-floor space will increase by between 5 and 8 per cent per year. These figures must assume that data centre electricity supply shortages are going to get solved somehow.
