Browser wars in the Cloud: IE’s share falls to its lowest at 67%

This is an interesting development. Not because of Microsoft’s browser but the list of all those Cloud OSs [something which we continue to deny as the true OS for the SitApps or RIApps]. Look at the results and look at all those new browsers in the game. While we may battle on virtualization and all sorts of on-premise battles, the real war is being waged on the net. This time, like I said in my last BrightTALK chat, you’re in-charge!
Lets watch these trends for a while:

One by one, analysis
IE
This may look less alarming at the first look but this is a massive decline. This simply means that the usage is dropping and thus the new OS is a free-for-all battle.

Month Microsoft Internet Explorer
March, 2008 74.80%
April, 2008 74.83%
May, 2008 73.75%
June, 2008 73.01%
July, 2008 73.02%
August, 2008 72.15%
September, 2008 71.52%
October, 2008 71.27%
November, 2008 69.77%
December, 2008 68.15%
January, 2009 67.55%
We will take this up and do a quick analysis after collecting data from other sources.
