Cohesive-FT adds KVM to its Cloud offerings

And I’m sure like my friends out there at Q-layer, Cohesive-FT’s buddies won’t tell me about some conversations they may be having with interested parties. So if I take the liberty to make some wild guesses on possible lovers: Redhat maybe?
CohesiveFT (http://www.cohesiveft.com), the leader in automated software assembly, today announced support to automate the deployment of Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) servers via the Elastic Server web-based factory. Elastic Server is an automated “factory” that allows IT professionals to assemble, deploy, and manage virtual servers using a simple point-and-click interface. Beginning today, customers can assemble custom servers for deployment to the Kernel Virtual Machine format.
KVM is a Linux kernel virtualization infrastructure licensed under the GNU GPL. It provides a mechanism for splitting a single physical computer into multiple virtual machines. KVM’s approach differs from other virtualization formats in that it requires no patching of the kernel and takes advantage of performance improvements available on hardware containing virtualization extensions (Intel VT or AMD-V).
“With the virtualization and cloud computing landscape becoming simultaneously richer in feature set and more competitive in numbers of vendors, customers want to have the agility to capitalize on new capabilities in the marketplace. They want to have their infrastructure, in their control, in the clouds. We are constantly adding new virtualization formats like KVM to our Elastic Server platform as part of our solution for providing this agility,” said Patrick Kerpan, CTO at CohesiveFT. “Our increasing number of virtual server formats and deployment destinations allow users to do things like test virtual servers on local infrastructure using KVM, then re-master and deploy to EC2 in minutes without the need to worry about the format differences.”
