openQRM is one of my favorite Data Center Management tools and definitely a terrific recession-free and low-cost Cloud operators’ tool. Anyways here are some interesting things.
This step-by-step howto explains in detail how to setup a Cloud Computing environment with opneQRM. It also provides lots of informations about the subsystems automatically managed by and gives examples on how to grab and deploy server-images using different storage-types. Each step in this howto is heavily illustrated by screenshots.
1) Installing the operation system
2) Setting up the virtualization technology
4) Configuration of the openQRM-server
4/1) Setting up the lvm-nfs storage
4/2) Setting up the lvm-iscsi storage
5) Confirguration of the openQRM Cloud
5/1) Cloud Units, the billing mechanism of the Cloud
5/2) Automatic depovisioning, auto-create-virtual-machines and Cloud-Highavailability
I found the Configuration part, particularly the Billing mechanism really interesting there. Take a peek at the Cloud Manager Portal
