Nice to see that EMC is finally also supporting other virtualization vendors like Microsoft. Well VMware did the same when they sold their hypervisor to all other hardware vendors, EMC is doing just the same. Only they will also provide consultancy and all the works to help sell EMC’s hardware.

‘EMC is well positioned to assist customers adopting Microsoft virtualization technologies through our leading Microsoft consultancy, storage technology integration across Microsoft’s broad product portfolio and deep experience in information infrastructure for virtual environments.’

‘Microsoft’s virtualization strategy and portfolio across desktops and datacenters provides the cost savings and holistic management that customers require for more agile IT operations,’ said Zane Adam, Senior Director of Integrated Virtualization Microsoft Corp. ‘Our customers tell us that a critical factor in their ability to deliver upon this strategy is the support and expertise of partners. EMC’s commitment to Microsoft’s virtualization platform has been evident through our close engineering work, solution development, and consultant readiness efforts. Our work together will enable mutual customers to deploy integrated virtualization solutions with confidence.’

Microsoft specialists within EMC Consulting have deep capabilities and experience in server, application, presentation and desktop virtualization and have been engaging with customers on planning and implementing Microsoft virtualization solutions. To help customers optimize their infrastructure and leverage virtualization to reduce costs, increase flexibility and improve system availability, EMC also offers Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and System Center assessment and planning services, design services for application virtualization with Microsoft Application Virtualization and Windows Server Terminal Services implementations.
